For the second time, NRW Economics Minister Pinkwart has honored the startup clockin. This time, the Münster-based software company received the NRW Innovation Award from the ZENIT network for its simple solution for time recording and work documentation.

The Münster-based software startup clockin wins the NRW Innovation Award from the ZENIT network with its simple solution for time recording and work documentation via app.
Patron of the competition, NRW Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, honored clockin GmbH for its innovative and practice-oriented solution for time recording and documentation.
"The collaboration between innovative start-ups and Cell Phone Number Database established companies will lead to the success of digitalization projects," said NRW Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart at the award ceremony. clockin GmbH worked closely with the Ahlen-based tradesman company DiTom Kanaltechnik on the development.
The criteria for the innovation prize, which comes with prize money of €5,000, were the cooperation idea and implementation, the innovative content of the project, such as the transferability of the product and the process to other industries, the expected project success and the agility of the cooperation.
The laudatory speech was given by the chairman of the jury, Prof. Dr. Oliver Koch, Vice President for Research and Transfer at Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences.
App instead of paperwork: clockin GmbH makes digital transformation easy.
The start-up has developed a time recording app that supports craft businesses in recording working hours, documentation and evaluation in the office in a transparent, time-saving and hassle-free manner. For example, clockin creates timesheets completely automatically at the end of the month. The system was awarded the NRW Digital Economy Prize in 2017 for its special innovative strength and has since delighted numerous customers from all over Europe.
"This award is something very special for us," said Silicon Valley-experienced managing director Frederik Neuhaus, visibly pleased. He has big plans for the future with his fast-growing startup. At the same time, he made it clear that the simple operation of clockin will continue to be essential in the future as the range of functions increases. "These are craftsmen, carers, etc. who want to do their work instead of writing notes all day or using complicated applications."
NRW Economics Minister Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart also praised the exemplary philosophy of the Münster-based company. Especially in view of the upcoming ECJ ruling on mandatory time recording, the startup offers an intelligent solution for easy implementation.
More than 2,000 companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland have now registered with clockin. The clockin app was developed for iPhone and Android devices and can be downloaded from the AppStore or Google PlayStore. clockin is billed monthly per employee as a subscription.
